My name is Joseph Herrick, and I am an 18-year-old artist from Salem, Massachusetts. Ever since I was little, I have had an eye for art, but I didn’t really start taking it seriously until around 2021.

At a gallery show, with a hand-painted shoe

I originated the name Hemsley from a friend when I was on vacation and the name stuck ever since. I said to myself “Hemsley had a nice flow to it, Hemsley Herrick…”

“This piece was where I realized how far I can go with this art thing.”

One day after school, I found a 3x4’ canvas in my basement that was about to get thrown away. I then proceeded to find paint and make one of my many favorite pieces to this day: Maniac. This piece was where I realized how far I can go with this art thing. Maniac ended up being sold to the rapper Skrilla years later. If you want to support me & my work I’ve created, take a look around the site!
